Title: The darkest evening of the year
Fandom: CHAOS
Rating: PG
Genre: Gen
Characters: Rick, Billy, Casey, Michael
Spoilers/warnings: None
Length: Approx. 4k words
Notes: Prompted by Faye, beta'd by Faye. Basically my entire existence in this fandom is thanks to Faye. Remaining mistakes are my own.
Disclaimer: CHAOS is property of CBS and its creators, etc. Title is a line from Robert Frost's "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening"

Summary: The mission is supposed to be over. Which is why Rick can’t quite figure out why they’re running for their lives through the woods.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep. )

Title: The uncertain hour before the morning (1/2)
Fandom: CHAOS
Rating: PG
Genre: Gen
Characters: Michael, Billy, Casey, Rick
Spoilers/warnings: None
Length: Approx. 11,000 words total (I know, right?)
Notes: This is really all Faye's fault. Not me getting addicted to this short-lived show, but the writing of massive fic. Of course, she spoils me shamelessly, so it's time I returned the favor.
Disclaimer: CHAOS is property of CBS and its creators, etc. Title is a line from T.S. Eliot's "Little Gidding"(in section II, specifically).

Summary: Waiting is difficult for Michael. Particularly when his team is stranded in the forest after a plane crash, waiting to see if help will arrive before it's too late.

It's wet. )

Title: Monday, Monday (Can't Trust That Day)
Fandom: Hawaii Five-0
Rating: PG-13 (for language)
Genre: Gen, h/c, friendship
Characters: Everyone from 1.09 basically
Spoilers/warnings: Major spoilers for 1.09, "Po'ipu"; alternate-ending fic for that episode
Length: Approx. 5,000 words
Notes: This is what my mind thought should happen while watching 1.09, "Po'ipu." AKA, an excuse to add whump. This really won't make any sense if you haven't seen that episode, as the action picks up when the team is holed up in Steve's house. Mega thanks to [livejournal.com profile] faye_dartmouth for prodding my plot bunny, for betaing this madness, and giving me an idea for the title. Any mistakes are my own.

Disclaimer: I don't own anything related to Hawaii Five-0, and if you recognize it, I don't own it; this includes action and dialogue in this particular piece. Title comes from the song "Monday, Monday" by The Mamas And The Papas.

Summary: All Steve can think of is the conversation he and Danny had at the start of the case, when Danny said he was sick at the thought of taking a bullet for Pak. Steve had said it wouldn't come to that. He's never been more wrong in his life.

The thing is, Danny should have known better. )

Title: Rather Swim Ashore
Fandom: Hawaii Five-0
Rating: PG
Genre: Gen, h/c, friendship
Characters: Danny, Steve, Kono, Chin, mentions of Grace, Rachel, and a couple OC bad guys
Spoilers/warnings: General spoilers for season 1, but no major plot spoilers
Length: Approx. 5,000 words
Notes: This is loosely inspired by [livejournal.com profile] faye_dartmouth 's fic "Reasons to Hate Hawaii" (and by "loosely," I mean that my plot bunny saw this fic, ate a few radioactive angst and whump carrots, and went completely psycho). It also draws on a scene from 1.03, but isn't directly linked to that ep. Also, I'm pretty sure there's a Hardy Boys book that features something like this as a plot point, but I have no idea which one it would be, as I've read pretty much all of them at one point or another. Special thanks to [livejournal.com profile] faye_dartmouth for the beta. This would be half as funny and a lot less understandable without her help.
Disclaimer: I don't own anything related to Hawaii Five-0. Title comes from Blue October's "Into the Ocean."

Summary: Danny was starting to think he could enjoy living in Hawaii. Then some morons decided to conk him over the head outside his apartment and chain him up in a cage. Underwater.

Apparently Danny's not supposed to like Hawaii. )

Title: Adrift
Fandom: ST:XI
Rating: PG-13 for mild gore and some language
Genre: Gen, angst, h/c
Characters: Jim Kirk, some Leonard McCoy and mentions of others
Spoilers/warnings: None
Length: Approx. 5100 words
Notes: I'm a little rusty, but I come to you with an offering. The style's a little different--I've been experimenting lately. Let me know what you think. also, there's a good chance that a companion fic will be coming along for this, so keep an eye out ofr that. Thanks to Stray for the encouragement and excitement, to Cole Chan for the beta, to ColtDancer for checking in on me and encouraging me to get my rear in gear, and to thsoe who continue to read and review my stuff even though I'm not always consistent in my posting. Y'all are wonderful. Also, the poetry quoted in here is from Samuel T. Coleridge's poem "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner," which is an excellent read. And I don't own Star Trek.

Summary: The captain always goes down with his ship. Unless the crew says otherwise. Gen, happy ending.

He’s laying at the bottom of the rickety wooden boat, keeping his eyes up toward the sky so as not to look at the long crack in the hull that’s inching steadily closer to the waterline. )

Title: Between the Lines
Rating: PG-13
Genre: Gen, humor, a little angst, h/c,
Characters: Kirk, McCoy, Spock, Scott, Sulu, Chekov, Uhura
Spoilers/warnings: None, really, although movie spoilers are always up for grabs
Length: Approx. 6300 words
Notes: Written for [profile] cest_moi_01 for round two of [livejournal.com profile] trek_exchange . Sorry for the wait! Came out as another 5/1 fic because I apparently can't resist the call. Prompt is at the end. Running unbeta'd again. I own nothing. Cross-posted everywhere.

Summary: Of all the things they thought he was, an artist had never been one of them. AKA, Five people who discover Kirk's hidden talent, and one who's known all along.

The mission had turned into a disaster. )

Title: For the benefit of the sick
Rating: PG
Genre: Gen, humor, a little angst, h/c,
Characters: Kirk, McCoy, Spock
Spoilers/warnings: None, really, although movie spoilers are always up for grabs
Length: Approx. 2000 words
Notes: Written as a round one pinch-hit for [livejournal.com profile] bdblack at [livejournal.com profile] trek_exchange . The story I had originally planned on posting for this got corrupted over the weekend (moral of the story--save in more than one place), so I came up with this really quick this weekend. It doesn't fulfill any specific prompt, other than the fact that you like Kirk, Spock, and McCoy interaction, so... hope it works!
Notes the second: Lots of shameless, unbeta'd fluff. Title is from the Hippocratic Oath, in case you were wondering.

Summary: Friendship makes people do strange things. Particularly when that friend is Jim Kirk.

This sucks. )

Author: [livejournal.com profile] moogsthewriter
Artist: [livejournal.com profile] melisus
Mixer: [livejournal.com profile] elanorofcastile
Betas: Thanks to Pax for the quick once-over on the ending sections, as well as to Stray and Eight for their help with the beginning. I've been fiddling with this a lot, so potential for typos is still rather large, despite their fine work. All mistakes are mine; if you see any, let me know.
Rating: T
Genre: Angst, h/c, gen
Characters: McCoy, Kirk, Spock, Pike, Scott, Sulu, Uhura, Chekov, and a mix of OCs
Spoilers/warnings: Movie spoilers up for grabs; mentions of violence and torture; language; heavy, heavy angst
Total Length: Approx. 31,000 words, divided into six parts
Notes: I make use of songs at the beginning of each chapter and as chapter titles (the majority of which you will find in the mix); lyrics/chapter titles are credited within each section.
--Also, special thanks to [livejournal.com profile] melisus and [livejournal.com profile] elanorofcastile for the wonderful art and mix (respectively). They did wonderful, wonderful work despite the limited amount of text I gave to them, so make sure to check them out!

Title: Darkness Holding Me Tightly
Rating: T
Genre: Gen, angst, h/c
Characters: Sam, Dean, Bobby
Spoilers/warnings: Follows right after 2.10 "Hunted", with various quotes from other episodes. So spoilers up through that point.
Length: Approx. 7400 words
Notes: Written for [profile] cgf_kat over at the [livejournal.com profile] summer_sam_love  exchange. Many, many apologies for the lateness. (Better late than never, I do suppose...) Thanks to [personal profile] faye_dartmouth for the awesome last-minute beta, and for having the patience of a saint. Also thanks to [livejournal.com profile] eightiswild for giving me the encouragement to go with this particular story line.
Prompt: Any season. Sam is temporarily blinded, but they're not sure/don't know it's temporary.

Summary: After a hunt goes bad, Sam has more issues to deal with than just his resulting blindness.

Light filters out from the cavern ahead, casting the narrow stone passageway with a soft blue glow. )

Title: By Any Other Name
Rating: T
Genre: Gen, humor, angst, h/c, with teeny smidgen of het
Characters: Kirk mostly, but quite a few appearances by McCoy, Spock, Uhura, and the rest of the crew
Spoilers/warnings: Movie spoilers up for grabs, some mention of violence, angst
Length: Approx. 5500 words
Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] yanyann's  prompt over at [livejournal.com profile] trek_exchange . Ummm... surprise! I tried writing one of your other prompts, but this came out instead! Just couldn't resist the call of a "5 things" fic, I guess. Enjoy!
Notes the second: For any Magnificent Seven (television series) fans out there, there’s a quote from an ep in here. Kudos if you can find it. :D
Notes the third: There's lots of gratuitous universal communicator malfunctions in here. I've never seen an ep with the communicator in it, so... just roll with it, I  guess. :D Thanks to stray for the cheerleading and eight for the beta.

Summary: Cultural miscommunications are annoying for everyone, but they’re almost always painful for Jim Kirk. AKA, Five times aliens mistook Kirk for someone (or something) else, and one time they didn’t.

It’s their third diplomatic mission and everything seems to be moving along smoothly. )

Title: Requiem (chapter five)
Rating: PG-13/T for language, some violence
Genre: Angst, h/c, gen
Characters: The entire ST:XI crew plus some new OCs; Kirk's POV this chapter
Spoilers/warnings: Anything in the movie is up for grabs. Also trying to stick as close to canon as possible for the show, but I haven't watched many. Most of my knowledge is limited to what I've found on (numerous) Web sites, so if I'm off on something, feel free to let me know.
Length: This chapter: approx. 9000 words (yeah... Jim got chatty)
Notes: Sorry I'm late--I couldn't get on to LJ for most of the day. Lots of medical references here. I'm an English major, not a doctor. Ergo, some stuff might be wrong. Let me know if there are issues--I'm always glad to learn more. Also, I didn't have a lot to go on for the mind meld section, so... do with that as you will. This chapter has a lot of inspiration from [livejournal.com profile] littlefairy78's Supernatural story "Sleep Eternal", so mega thanks to her for the inspiration (and for letting me use her story as my muse for this story).
Notes the second: Some bad news on the posting front--I'm going on vacation next weekend, and due to the sudden increase of activity in my social life (I have one of those? Who knew?) it's going to be impossible for me to finish another chapter before I leave. Therefore, the next chapter will be posted July 31. Hopefully the length of this chapter, plus the one or two oneshots I'll be posting next week, will make up for the long wait.

Title: Requiem (chapter four)
Rating: PG-13/T for language, some violence
Genre: Angst, h/c, gen
Characters: The entire ST:XI crew plus some new OCs; strong focus on McCoy this chapter
3700 words
Notes: Apologies for posting this so late (although it's still Friday here!), but real life got much busier than I planned today. *g* Thanks to stray for the encouragement and to eight for the amazing beta. Also, it'll be Jim's POV next chapter! :D

Summary: Caught off-guard by their captain's sudden death, the crew of the Enterprise searches for answers. The problem? Jim Kirk isn't dead.

Title: Fathers and Sons
Rating: PG/K+
Genre: Angst, h/c, gen
Characters: Kirk, McCoy (friendship fic)
Spoilers/warnings: Angst warning. Movies spoilers up for grabs.
Length: Around 950 words
Notes: Written up in less than an hour and un-beta'd. Hopefully it works. Movie quotes are from my memory, which can be faulty, and are therefore probably not exactly word for word.
Notes the second: Dedicated to all the fathers out there, including my own. Love you, Daddy.

Summary: It's Father's Day.

The ship's quiet. )
