Pure Imagination

So over a year ago I posted the story "By Any Other Name", which, in case you've forgotten, was a series of snippets about various (incorrect) names Kirk was called over several different mentions. In one snippet, Jim was mistaken for his grandfather, Tiberius Kirk. 

Well, a couple months back, the wonderful nwspaprtaxis wrote a tag to that story. It's called "Not Alone" and it's absolutely awesome. Seriously. It's like she snuck into my mind and pulled out a character that I hadn't even realized was lingering there, but it fit so well. But because I'm a horrible (and absentminded) person, I never linked anyone to it until now.

The story I had originally planned on posting for this got corrupted over the weekend (moral of the story--save in more than one place), so I came up with this really quick this weekend. It doesn't fulfill any specific prompt, other than the fact that you like Kirk, Spock, and McCoy interaction, so... hope it works!
Notes the second: Lots of shameless, unbeta'd fluff. Title is from the Hippocratic Oath, in case you were wondering.

Notes: Sorry I'm late--I couldn't get on to LJ for most of the day. Lots of medical references here. I'm an English major, not a doctor. Ergo, some stuff might be wrong. Let me know if there are issues--I'm always glad to learn more. Also, I didn't have a lot to go on for the mind meld section, so... do with that as you will. This chapter has a lot of inspiration from littlefairy78's Supernatural story "Sleep Eternal", so mega thanks to her for the inspiration (and for letting me use her story as my muse for this story).
Notes the second: Some bad news on the posting front--I'm going on vacation next weekend, and due to the sudden increase of activity in my social life (I have one of those?
