Notes: Well, this is actually 100 words (according to MS Word), but I kinda twisted the prompt a little... mostly because I thought it was "on time", not "being late." Still time themed, though... (But this will probably be the first of a few responses to this challenge, so I'll do my best to get it right next time. ~_^)

Summary: Nick-of-time rescues are exhausting.

It’s silent, save for the sound of their exhausted breathing that sends puffs of fog into the cold night air. They’re sprawled in an odd L-shape, mere yards from a deadly drop.

Once the panic of the moment has passed, Sam turns his head to look up at his brother.

“Good timing.”

Dean chuffs a laugh, and Sam lets his head drop. His ear rests over Dean’s heart, its deep thuds matching the mantra in both their minds.

Too close. Too close.

Dean’s fist is still clenched in Sam’s jacket, his brother’s still-beating heart a steady reassurance beneath his fingers.

End.
