“He comin’ yet?” JD asked.

Vin shook his head, glancing away from the window. “Nope.”

Josiah glanced at his pocket watch. “He’ll be here in thirty seconds.”

The words were barely out of his mouth when a familiar stride pounded through the door. “Morning, gentlemen!” Ezra greeted, a knowing smirk twisting his lips.

“How does he always know right when Chris is almost the maddest?” JD wondered as the leader glared at the gambler before turning away.

“I don’t know everything, but many things I do understand,” Josiah declared. He chuckled and shook his head. “Ezra ain’t one of them.”
